General Information

The purpose of the American Association of University Women is the uniting of alumni of different institutions for practical educational work. In keeping with its purpose, the Association shall develop a program to enable college women to continue their own intellectual growth, to further the advancement of women, and to discharge the special responsibilities to society of those who have enjoyed the advantages of higher education.

Our AAUW branch plans its program according to the interests of our members and the community needs, cultural interests, education and international relations. To share in this varied program of AAUW, contact the chairperson of your specific interest area.

AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

AAUW Funds provides funds to advance education, research and self-development for American and international women and to foster equity and positive societal change.

AAUW’s Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class. Membership is not be invitation.
